And to think you were worried no one would recognize you, silly thing *^_^* Maybe I'm biased, but I think you look waaaaay better than the other Claire cosplayer (yes, I appreciate all the hard work she did, and she does look good, but YOU were definitely channeling Claire.)
That katana is frelling gorgeous *^_^* I know it was pricey, but I have to agree with Shazzer; that thing was made for you. As for all the other stuff, oh boy, did you do great!
I'm so glad you had a blast this entire weekend. It's certainly about time...and have you noticed that when you follow through on your own plans, they always turn out to be fun?
Thank you *^_^* I had so much fun, I really did. People were coming up to me all day, asking to take my picture. I loved it. Next year I have to start early--I want to cosplay as Scarlett, which will probably involve some custom pieces. I hope I can convince Shazzer to come with me again. I really had such a good time. I can't remember feeling so happy at the end of a day in a really long time. I only hope Halloween is as fun, and Shazz and I are thinking of going to JemCon next year, too

*^_^* You know, I've never held a katana. I wonder how it would feel in my hands? I'm guessing the balance is solid, and makes it graceful to handle, no?
Damn, I really really wish I could come along, though the gods only know who I could possibly cosplay as, other than maybe Genkai from Yu Yu Hakushu *chuckles* I also wish I could come over and read all of your new comics *~_^* I'm especially curious about the Wonder Woman one. That title grabs me.
I'm not sure which is supposed to be more fabulous, the NYC Con or the San Diego one. I believe the second is the original, literally the mother of all cons, at least here in the States.
The katana is balanced beautifully, and one of the things that really anchored me to it. It's Damascus steel, and while it's a replica, it's certainly not a toy--it was created with too much care for that. After over twenty years of being obsessed with storytelling and fantasy weapons, few things please me more than collecting my favorites, from Leon's Desert Eagle to Claire's Lugers to Squall's gunblade, and there'll be many more treasures to find in the future, but I never had a katana, of all things. And out of all the many, many katana in the world belonging to the many, many heroes, this is the one I am supposed to have, and that's very clear to me.
San Diego Comic Con is indeed the master of all cons here, and is legendary. I'd love to go to it someday, when the finances are kind enough to do both in one year. Not everyone cosplays, either--lots of people do, but not everyone. It's almost as fun to read people's witty t-shirts as it is to see costumes--my favorite was the 5-day weather report for Alderaan, with Monday,

You know how we will sometimes meet people who we just know are supposed to be in our lives? I think the same is true for certain objects, even if they're newly made. You touch it, or merely see it, and it's like you recognize it deep inside yourself.
Ooooo, poor Alderaan *snickers* Mean, but funny, and that's one of the other cool things about these kinds of cons. You have fans from all across the spectrum, whether it's anime/manga, games, or sf in all of its permutations (science fiction to sword fantasies, books to tv to movies.) There's no way in any of the nine hells anyone could possibly be bored *^_^*
*takes note of final comment, smiles, and hugs* As always, thank you, my friend. I still have hopes...
