home renovation
My parents have gotten the home renovating bug now, while I was away at camp, my mother 'redid' my bedroom (basically moved some stuff around, installed a pretty net over my bed which I adore!) and it looks fantastic.
Now they are renovating a kitchen corner.
it's really great seeing my dad go back to his carpentry (he used to be an 'outdoors I-hike-mountains-for-fun' kinda guy) and proudly say "no metal is in this furniture" and also great seeing my mom get all excited about stainers and decorating techniques.
So while their in this mood, I'm thinking maybe I should mention my extremely messy computer area that is in dire need of a fix-up and some TLC. :)
Discovery of the Day: When making bread, DO NOT use flour that on the package says "Cake and Pastry". baaaad idea.
My bread, instead of coming up beautifully and rich was flat and spongy and tasted mildly of beer (probably from the yeast). So.
When making bread, use regular flour or flour that says "For Bread" on the side.
There truly is a difference. *pats misshapen loaf*
