you are thinking
of all those you loved
and how they all went away
bombs hit beside you
buildings crash
hell seems only a minute away
life is a roller coaster
a tight rope
a thread
a needle in a hay stack
you cant find
but have spend your whole life looking for
everyone seems to be no one.
no one seems to be everywhere.
there is something wrong.
you cant explain it
or put your finger on it
but it is real.
as real as the book in your hand
or walking on the street
or shopping in the supermarket.
you think so deeply.
I know you.
I want to tell you.
everything is going to be okay.
I understand.
the existence of love seems possible
but it is the possibility of it
that confuses you
that makes you unable to have it
grasp it
to take hold of it
and finally be happy.
underneath this dark sky tonight
you are alone..
you read as if you expect an answer
but I have none
just that I know

as you look out the window tonight
