Got up early, took Nathan to the Thomas the Train day out in Perris. I learned later how people come from all over the world to this thing. Who knew? Hmm..not me. Anyway, it was cute. Very cool to have seen that in person. I want to know how they transport that thing. If you have no clue what I am talking about, there is an actual Thomas the Train caboose that travels across the US (or globe, not sure) that they hook up to a real train for rides, pictures etc. Nate had a blast. Got home from that about 12noon. Put Nate down for his nap then off to change clothes.
Next was my best friend's father's Art Gallery reception. His first official collection and it was fabulous. I know he's good in his old age, but I really was impressed when I saw the finished products. There was one that I really want. I told him that I am good for payment plans. He laughed. After that it was off to the Rainforest Cafe to celebrate my best friend's birthday. I'd passed by it in the mall a million times but never eaten there.
So, the Rainforest Cafe is very cool . I thought of Rissa bunches!! Tree frogs EVERYWHERE! The entire place is, well, like a rainforest. With trees, lights, animated birds, butterflies on the trees. Animated Elephants, gorillas, and a million other animals. A huge water fountain in teh back with a big ass statue of what I think is a Greek God of some sort. When they have a rain dance, the lights go down and flicker, lightning and thunder sound, the animals all make noise, and lightning strikes in teh fountain. Way cool. The kids just LOVED the place. Food was actually good, too. You think of places like that to be all show and no quality. This place had both. Amy got a volcano cake when they sang happy birthday to her (they said she turned 21, she was quite pleased) and let me tell ya..that thing fed all 10 of us! HUGE!
Inside the cafe is a huge gift shop. Oh Rissa- I totally thought of you. I found so many frog things that I just wanted to get for you!!!!!!!
SO many cute things in there.
Now, it's one more purse party on Friday then it's all Nathan! Wednesday the 14th is actually Nathan's birthday, but the party is Saturday. Little Einstein's themed. He'll love it.
Tonight we started him in his "big boy bed" as he calls it. He now has the twin bed in his room and no more crib. We'll see how naps go for a while. We had to tell him a few times tonight to get back in bed but after a couple times, he hughed and went and crawled back in bed. Then he was out! But, naps will be a different story cause it'll be somewhat light in the daytime. At night he doesn't know his way around his room yet in the dark. Saying a prayer this whole transition goes well. And I will just keep telling myself that it'll pass and he'll get used to it eventually. After all, none of us are in cribs anymore lol.
Guess my break is done, gotta get back to making the candy lei's for his party favors. Man, I better stop eating the candy!
