More ponies.

In other news... I've been talking back and forth with the Icelandic breeders.
For some unknown reason, they keep pushing Bushi, the $7500 bay gelding on me. They've got like 20 other Icies, but that's the one they keep wanting me to try out and ride. So I finally sent her an email basically saying if she considers dropping the price to $1500, I'll think about it. It doesn't even have to be Bushi, it could be any of the other 20 geldings they have for sale.
*facepalm* Nope. She sent me an email last night saying they'll drop the price in half - $3750.
That's very nice of them, he's a really sweet little guy, but they're not paying any attention to what I'm saying. I'm honestly not negotiating. That's my final price. $1500, and I'll come out and ride him. The market is flooded with horses right now. Trained, rideable, good horses. I don't really care that he's registered. I'm not planning on showing in any type of show, much less an Icelandic-only show, and he's a gelding. Can't breed. I have no use for registration.
I'm gonna sit on the email for a few days, and email them back after I go try out a couple other ponies.

Monday - Going up to Nipomo with Randy. There's a sweeeet looking, 13hh Norwegian Fjord mare for sale. She's 12 years old, good with other horses, been ridden everywhere on trails, easy-keeper, barefoot, etc etc. Haven't heard anything bad so far, other than she's a submissive horse in a herd, so gotta watch to make sure she's getting her fair share of food. So I'm taking Randy with me to go take a look, and I'll bring my helmet and saddle with me and see how she rides. Randy thinks she's adorable, especially with her little multi-colored mohawk mane. Heheh. So we'll see how that goes.

Next Sat - Going down to SB to try out a 14.2-14.1hh POA, bay with a spotted blanket gelding. Like the Fjord, he sounds like a super sweet little guy. She sent me a video of him loading and unloading into a trailer, and he's just calm as can be. We're going on a trail ride with him to see how I like him. My only problem with this POA is that he's a bit more than I really want to spend, at $3500, but I'm hoping I can talk her down on the price, especially since I'm willing to pay cash. Considering in the pictures, he looks really well taken care of, unlike the Icey gelding, I'm even willing to spend more than $1500 if its a good fit. We'll see.

There's a few other ads I can send emails out to, but I think I'll go check out these two for now. If I'm not in love, nothing says I have to settle. I'm in no hurry. I have plenty of time to figure out exactly what I want, and like I said before, there's PLENTY of horses out on the market right now to go look at.

Hopefully this bad, stormy, windy, cold-ass weather goes away soon.
I want to ride, and try out the new hot tub, damnit.
