My subject lines are so vague, heheh.
Blarg:
I posted about it on Facebook, but don't know how many of you who actually still read this thing have seen the news. I R pregnant. Yaaay and booo at the same time! Boo, because the one thing I've been working on for a while, I'm no longer allowed to do. As in, ride Blue. In fact, I can't do much of /anything/ right now. I am having a few complications... nothing major, but have been put on partial bed rest. So no horsey time of any kind for me.
Which in some ways, is good... I can't lunge/work Blue at all, so Randy gets to do it. So we went out and putzed around a bit. Randy got the saddle n' stuff on him... showed him the wonders of v-rigging. We actually used my older Crest Ridge saddle... it strangely fits Blue better than the Aussie does right now for some reason. I think he lost weight. But! I'm pretty small, especially compared to Randy. He's not fat, by any means, but he's tall, and man-like. So it looked pretty funny when he got on the saddle. It doesn't fit Randy AT ALL. (Note to self: Look into a better fitting saddle that fits both Randy and Blue. Oy. I'm thinking we should give the Sensation treeless a chance. Blue's back is pretty hard to fit, and it changes a lot.)
Anyway. I'm pretty jealous. I wont lie. I am.
Blue listens to Randy like I wish he would listen to me. He can get that lazy-ass horse to TROT for more than 4 steps without stopping! I can do it on the ground, but he's a stubborn mule when I'm in the saddle, most of the time. They walked around the big open pasture a bit, then trotted, backed up, circled... it looked good. He didn't freak, didn't spook, though he did slip in a gopher hole at one point, but he's fine. They even went out of the pasture and onto the gravel and wandered the front of the house, and back around the other side. Blue does have an iffy point near the trailer though, he just doesn't like going towards this specific area... gotta work on that one.
But anyway... I just sat and watched, and shouted pointers which were largely ignored. But meh. That's Randy for ya. :P
The more I can get Randy to be around, and mess with Blue, the better. And the easier it will be for me to look for another horse that's more suited for me after this pregnancy. :) I'm not giving up!!
Freedom:
I got Blue the Freedom Feeder. Heheh. Hooked it up to one of the gates, so it's easy to just slip the hay in through the slats. He stared at it for a full 10 minutes before even getting close, and then took a nibble. It scared him, so he ran away from it. Then he came back and did it all over again. It was very entertaining. He's pretty good with it now, though. I'm hoping it'll help keep him a bit more busy throughout the day. He's got some grass growing in his pasture right now, but he doesn't really bother with it. He's picky that way.
Anyway, its bed time.
