[does anime & manga fandom still exist?]

i'm suddenly filled with longing for it again. i as going through 2012 animes, saw few interesting titles (mostly josei, slices-of-life and coming of age stories) and was hit with a wave of nostalgia.
since tv shows are going on hiatus in a couple of weeks, i think i might go back to this for a bit. or, hopefully, completely.
but as lj is more or less dead, where do fans hang out nowadays?
