1 skirt, salvaged from a clothes swap- free
1 cool hand-knitted hat- $3, for yarn
1 ugly shirt from back of closet- free
Ribbon and fabric, sale- $5

The joy of having a recycled Halloween costume- Priceless

Pictures to follow once I am actually done sewing everything. Hand sewing is, on the whole, very slow. I'm just reworking an existing garment, but I've already spend about 8 hours of work time on that. Part of this is not having access to adequate tools (oh, how I miss my rotary cutter!), but the rest is just the time required for seams and hems. (And, of course, the application of band-aids. I really ought to keep away from sharp objects.)

Oddly, I, who cannot even sit still for a 90-minute children's movie, am perfectly capable of spending hours at this and not even noticing.
