I am really really sad about that story. The people who believed and what it must be like waking up today. The people who believed with such fervor they cut their earthly ties and rid themselves of their earthly possessions, and have nothing on May 22nd, because there simply wasn't supposed to be a May 22nd.
But I am incredibly pissed off every time of the money these people and their leader spent on the awareness campaign. How many hungry people would that million dollars have fed? How many people could have bought life-saving medical care or medication? Nevermind saving the world even, how many people could have been spared crying over the kitchen tables with mountains of debt if Harold Camping had just decided to hand out a 10th of that money to random folks? How many foreclosures could have been avoided but just catching some people up on a few payments? Imagine that sum of money and how much good could be done with it. And they might as well have lit the cash on FIRE for all the good it did for humanity, warning of a doomsday that didn't come.
