Hello? Blimey, I feel a complete fool... Um, I just pressed this...part of the page that says audio, but it’s not a radio...it’s a book. I’ll just talk to myself then, I suppose. Just in case.

Now I can’t think of anything to say. I’ll just pretend it’s a radio after all. ... Hello. This is WPC Sharon Granger and I’m lost. Someone’s stolen my ( Read more... )

Yes. Thank you. Sorry for yelling over the...journal. It was just a bit of a shock, that's all.

No no, don't worry about it. I know waking up here can be something of a shock.

Still in need of an explanation? Or maybe somebody to come show you to town?

I've someone coming to find me, and I've read a guide, but thank you. Anyway, if I really am stuck here, it's nice just to meet people, even if it is...over a magical journal. ...I really do feel daft saying that.

Don't worry, you get used to it.

Since I already know your name, I guess it's only fair to give you mine. I'm Guy Cecil, and I run one of the bars in the village, Good Spirits. Feel free to stop by if you need to talk, even if you aren't the drinking type, okay?

Guy...I said Sharon, didn't I? I go by Shaz. Thanks for the offer. I'll prob'ly take you up on it as soon as I make it to the village.

After making it to the village, making a stop at the Clothing Shop, and walking around for a little bit more to get the feel of the place, Shaz finds Good Spirits and enters the place, making her way to sit at the actual bar and resting her forearms on it. She's wearing a blue and black striped wide-necked sweater draped off one shoulder and under her wings, black capris, and red shoes, with white socks pulled up. Lucky for her, 80s fashions tend to allot for wings.

"Guy?" She thinks she knows what he looks like, the little pictures and all. She's uncertain, though. Catching his attention is the best course of action.

[ooc: As long as you don't mind!]

Hey, that's pretty efficient! Guy is at the other end of the bar tending to another customer when she arrives, but once she calls for him he politely extracts himself from the conversation and heads over to her, all smiles.

"You must be Shaz. You make it here all right?"

"I did, thanks," says Shaz, smiling at him. "Is this place like the clothes shop: set up like a normal sort of place, only you never have to pay the tab? It's a bit odd, not having to use money or anything."

He prepares a water for her until she makes a drink request and nod. "Pretty much. It's a little strange, but you get used to it after a while. Most of the people here that work just do it to alleviate boredom, really."

"Thanks," says Shaz, taking the water automatically. She is a bit dehydrated after walking around all day. "Yeah. I understand that."

She tilts her head to ponder Guy for a moment before speaking again. "So...you called this a bar, and you sound American...but do you have any British beer?" She's heard things. Not to mention she wants something comforting, not something else new. "If it's too much trouble, I'll settle for wine."

American?

Guy smiles sheepishly, though he does turn to examine what he has in stock. "Any particular brand you prefer? I actually don't know anything about your world's brand names so I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to tell what's British and what isn't."

Shaz names a couple of lagers, popular in Britain in the 1980s (as the mun has no clue).

"Sorry," she says. "I'm still getting used to this...alternate worlds thing. If you don't have any of that...a decent red wine'd be okay."
