Weather and the fun of travel
I have decided I suck at winter weather. Got stuck in the snow yesterday trying to back out of the garage. The snow plow guy had to push me out. Boy...I looked stupid. Then it took FOREVER to get to Jewel. I stocked up on the essentials...ice cream, chocolate, graham crackers, Valentine's Day candy, marshmellows. I alsoo made Brad's favorite...Banana Muffins. Out of the 8 that were made (huge Starbucks muffin size), 3 are left. I think I may have had 1/2 of one.
We did try a new resturant last night. Since moving, we have been in search of a decent microbrew place. Tried RAM...awful beer and the French Onion soup was a joke. Cold, bland, and noting to write home about. The Millrose was more like our parent's brewhouse. OK brew, but the atmosphere made me feel like I was at my grandparent's. No thanks. Finally think we found one...Prairie Rock. www.prairierockbrewingcompany.com Great Vanilla beer (sounds odd, but faboo.) Two seasonals...a Java Stout (taste the cofffee. Perks you up though) and a Frambozen (Raspberry flavored...not too sweet, and fairly light). This place is pretty close to us (just NW of Woodfield) so that is also a plus.
One the travel note, I am off to the east coast for business. Can you feel the excitement? (insert sarcasism). I spend the whole week out there. Hopefully my flight out is not cancelled. But if it is...I get to see family in the area.
