The weather pixie is gone!
*Chuckles* Yes, I know that's not the worst thing in the world, but my profile looks naked now *Eyes it*. Heh.. I'll survive..
I kept meaning and meaning to ramble about 'Mania, but I never did get around to it.. *Shrugs* I still haven't finished taking screencaps from it yet. I want to make some funky animation things.
But I will start rambling about the international Smackdown!House show thingy I went to in Sheffield -
First off, just a little bit of pickiness about directions we were given by the hotel to get to it from the station. 'Near to the hotel' should actually mean that. Like, within sight or very close to that. Trying to find somewhere in a place you've never really been to properly when you have no sense of direction anyway - NOT EASY. But eventually we found the hotel and had time to get ready... and the Tram station thingy was VERY close to the hotel, so we didn't get lost then. We also paused to buy diet coke and stuff, because I KNEW it would be vastly overpriced at the arena.
So, we got there, wandered around the arena trying to find the 'red concourse' entrance bit.. eventually (after being told the wrong direction by some security person and going the wrong way at first) found the entrance and found our seats. We were *just* on the floor. Back row. And we're short. Woot. So, there was a lot we didn't see, and I'm hoping to either be closer next time - or - to be on the stands, but not to far up. We saw perfectly at the last show, even wehn people stood up. But, we were still psyched to be there, and camera people kept wandering by us. Hee! American accents.. It's the little things in life sometimes..
But on to show ramblings -
I read a report that they played Edge's theme before the show - that isn't true.. What they played was 'Feel so numb' by Rob Zombie. I know it's the same artist - but that isn't the same song.. Feh.. Not long before that, an instrumental version of America the beautiful played.. I was the only person around me that recognized it. Kinda sad.
They used Beautiful People for the Smackdown theme.. I was ARGH at this, because I wanted to hear the new theme..
I was very *SQUEE* at getting to see Billy Kidman.. I thought that he and Chuck had a great opening match. We were robbed though - I don't recall seeing a shooting star press *Pouts*.. But the crowd was nicely hyped throughout. And we got a nice bit of music.
Hee! When the next match started, I was amused to see Billy Gunn come out.. I mean.. Chuck.. followed by Billy.. *Laughs* He was teamed with Hardcore Holly. I don't like him, but they were fighting the Bashams, so I rooted for Billy Gunn because of DX love. I wasn't disappointed when they won. It was setting a theme of keeping the crowd happy.
The crowd was, however, killed by the next match. They popped for Rhyno initially.. and then Rhyno did the highly original 'trying to be a heel' thing of getting on the mic and saying 'England sucks' /sarcasm. I was still happy to see Rhyno though.. And I was VERY happy to see a gore for the win. The crowd seemed to have very little idea of who Orlando Jordan was.
*SQUEE* Nidia.. I love that girl. She had a match against Noble next.. the whole blindfold bit.. She rolled him up for the win. I was so happy to get to see Nidia and I'm hoping beyond all hope that at least on of the pictures I took during it actually turns out well. I'm sure they won't though.
YAY! Cruiserweights.. I adore the cruiserweights.. Chavo + Rey + Nunzio = HAPPY!JENI! Whee! Rey spanking Chavo's ass (After pulling down the tights a little) = VERY HAPPY!JENI! Hee! Rey's so naughty ;) Chavo retained the belt.. I wish I could have seen how, but I'm too short to see above a crowd of people standing up. *Pouts* Rey wore white though.. *______* . There were plenty of Eddie chants to piss off Chavo too.
Chimel started to thank us and got interrupted by PAUL HEYMAN.. I know he's heel, but I was SO HAPPY to get to see (Well, hear) him.. I didn't see much over the standing up crowd. Then Cena came out and DAMN he's loud. I mean, really... His voice was so clear - he really knows how to project it well.. I was harbouring much Cena!Love, as was the rest of the crowd. Bradshaw came out and cheap shotted him. Then their match started. I missed some of it though. I KNEW the intermission was next... and that a long queue for the bathroom would have been unbearable.. I was gone for two minutes, tops, so I didn't miss much. As predicted, after Cena beat Bradshaw, there was an intermission.
WGTT! *Bounce* They were wearing the BLUE AND GOLD! I know someone on my friends list will want to know that. AND Shelton stood on the apron with his back to us, so Shelton ass! Woot.. *_________* . But man... seriously, those guys are amazing. They were fighting Rikishi, who I'll ramble about in a moment, and Scotty.. I miss Grandmaster Sexay.. *Sigh* .. But anyway.. There was a dobule stink-face moment. Heh. And Rikishi and Scotty won, but I didn't see that because of standing up crowd. I will say that to me - Rikishi and Scotty dancing looks WRONG. There needs to be another person in there.
And Rikishi... he needs to lose some of that weight. I don't mean that in a nasty way - I mean that it isn't healthy to be that way. That has to be so much strain on his heart. I worry when I see that guy now.
Torrie then fought Dawn in an actual match.. No bikini contests or anything. It wasn't terrible. Not great either.. but not terrible. And MROW... Dawn looked good. Torrie was wearing that awful green outfit though. Torrie rolled Dawn up for the win.. I was disappointed with that because I think Dawn deserved a win.
Eddie! Eddie! Eddie! So happy to see him.. He was up against Big Show.. One of two people I could actually see when the crowd stood up. (The other was Chuck.. kinda at least). Eddie won, of course.
I didn't see much of what happened next... the crowd was standing.. I think the heels attacked Eddie (I definitely saw Charlie out there) and then the faces chased them out.. There was dancing and basking in adoration stuff... Rey the attention-whore was out there for sure *Grins* I mean that in a nice way.. I love that about him. The show finished after a while of that, but not after Torrie and Nidia were brought out for a dancing bit. I loved that after she danced, Torrie went over to the corner where Rey was.. and I *think* she hugged him. I was all... awwww at that. Nidia was in denim by then too *____________* .. So happy ending.
*Sigh* I need a paid account. There needs to be WWE representation in my icons.
And my throat is sore.
