Prompt 451: broken on the inside

She had never been a particularly happy person, nor had she been a sad person either; nor was she an interesting person or a boring person. She was neither uncommonly pretty nor horridly ugly. She was for all intense purposes completely and totally average. And she had no desire to be anything more or anything less.
For the most part she was if asked about her feeling towards the world she would respond she was indifferent most often, uninterested at worst, phlegmatic at best. There was nothing in the world that held her interest but everything was at some level amused her. There were things in the world that she wanted but those were easily attainable with a charming smile and a few pretty words in the right person’s ear. Now whether the words she spoke or the smile on her face were true mattered not, no simply getting what she wanted mattered. How she got it did not.
Sometimes she’d look at the world and the people in it and wonder why she was different from them. Why she was so unconcerned with the world and the people in it. But most days it didn’t matter to her - her apathetic nature showing through once more. It would be years before someone would see. For she had no long lasting relationships not that she had any desire for one mind you. Well to see and do more than ask questions she had neither answer to nor the designs to answer even if she did know. See in the end of it all it came down to the simple fact that she was fundamentally broken on the inside and she nor anyone she came in contact with had any inclination to fix this.
