I knew you first as a teenager,
Smoking and drinking playing pool
Bribing the girl you loved with a guitar
I saw you next as a knight
All shinnying armor in again love
So cynical of girls with flowers
I saw you next as promiscuous man
Dashing from bed to bed laughing all the way
Till again a girl stole your heart this time you ran with her
I remember you last as a cowboy
One who everyone loved or hated
I was one that loved you
I never saw you as the poet
Whose student loved you
I am sure it was wonderful, you are in it
I want to see you as the Jester
One of six playing a great
I wished you lived as long as him
I will see you last as a joker
Insane, white faced and laughing
What a role to be your last
I knew you as an actor
Brilliant and awe-inspiring
I am one of many who mourn you
