Time to let the lights go out on nuclear power?
Just like we all woke up in the 1980’s to nuclear weapons being a generally bad idea, I personally think it’s time to admit that nuclear power is now also a generally bad idea. When they’re working fine it’s great, they tick along very well not causing much in the way of disruption to anyone, but when things go wrong - and they have - they can go badly wrong and the price we pay is too high. Let’s be clear-headed and rational about this; let’s not build any new stations and responsibly phase out, at the end of their working lives, those that are still going.
