I'm so glad you like the new section, and that you caught the parallels to "Sexy" - I didn't even especially like that scene when I first saw it (it was so awkward, and Blaine was so... Seriously Blaine, you think this is a normal conversation you have with the father of a "just friend"? Why are you so slow to figure these things out??), but it worked so well as a way to connect the two universes I couldn't not use it.
I think it's awesome that the hug kicked up sense memory for you, too, because that's sort of how I wrote it. Everyone should have one or two hugs like that from someone stored in their sense memory somewhere. They're one of the best feelings :)
Also glad you thought the Klaine was sexy before it crashed and burned. I've never written smut before and I might have used the Bad Sex as a practise run to see if I can handle the Good Sex that is looking more and more likely to take place before the story is over (which I am far more insecure about - I'm aromantic asexual but luckily still a total pervert, so I can understand a character motivation of "I am using sex to hide from my problems" or even "This feels good more please," but writing actual "I love you and that makes me want to have hot sex with you" is pretty much wizard sorcery to me. I'm working on it. I'll figure this out. Probably).
