Thanks for the comment, I'm really glad you like it!
I really appreciate the comments about Blaine justifying what's happening to him, because that's honestly the entire reason I wrote this in the first place. It kind of boggles my mind when I see the media tear the kids who were victims of these long-term abductions apart because they didn't try to run away or they never asked for help, etc. I really wanted to try to present a situation where you get an idea of what it would be like from the kid's perspective. They aren't looking at this from the rational, disinterested perspective of the media pundit whose ass has become a permanent part of his or her chair. They're trying to make sense of what's happening with a very limited knowledge of the situation, so they come up with solutions and explanations that don't make much sense to the person who reads about what happened after the fact.
I think the drug thing is weird, too! I live in Canada as well, and while I personally hate pot (smells so gross to me), I don't really care if anyone else smokes it. A lot of the drug use is included so I can use it for the sequel later on, but I thought that it wasn't too big a stretch for Burt or Mercedes to disapprove of it as they are hyper protective of Kurt. Kurt I decided would be against it because to date the biggest pothead he knows appears to be Brett and he seems to dislike the poor guy.
Don't be too hard on Burt yet - you will be loving him in later chapters when Blaine starts to trigger his protective instincts, I promise!
