I just finished The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy yesterday.
I've never been more confused by a book in my life. What the hell happened? So four out of the original quintet are dead? Okay, then what about Fenchurch? Why did book 4 suck so much? And why did Zaphod just stop showing up in the storylines? I missed that sexist bastard, so much that I bought that Salmon book because the back cover said it had a short story about him in it. I'm also sad that Eddie was never made his way back into the plot, because I think he might have been my favourite.
On a related note, I checked out the cast of the new movie and I was very dissapointed. Why are there so many Americans? Zaphod sounding American works for me, and I'm indifferent about Trillian (except...British!), but Ford is being played by some guy from the Bronx. The hell? No, no, no, no, no! What's wrong with that casting director? Everyone (by "everyone" I mean "me") knows that the only option for Ford is John Hannah. Why? Because all of his lines are even better when you picture John delivering them. I have no complaints about Arthur, though. Arthur is perfect.
