Stop the presses! She's updating!

I went to the Stampede this afternoon with my Grandma, my Great Uncle and his daughter (geekspeak: my first cousin once removed). I learnt that I should never be allowed to walk through a midway. Ever. I'm not sure at what point exactly I got frustrated with all the screaming around me, but I do know I got plenty of shocked/nasty stares directed at me when I screamed "Would you morons shut up?! The rides aren't even scary!!" The really sad part is my inner monologue had just accidently crossed wires with my conversation. I hadn't realized I was screaming at all the teenagers until it was halfways out. So there you have it. I'm a 21-year-old female on the outside, but inside I'm a grumpy old man. I'd just like to publically declare on my livejournal that this grumpy old man wants to marry Shammy Man. I don't know what the hell it is, but I could watch him dump Diet Coke onto that square foot of carpet all day long. I have a sad, sad life.

Before I went to the Stampede I spent all the money I'd intended to spend in the exhibits at London Drugs on DVDs and VHSs. It's just that the jerks had all the movies I'd sworn to myself I would pick up if I ever saw them at good prices. I got Airplane! (surely I can't be serious!), A Midsummer Night's Dream (because Stanley Tucci, Christian Bale, and Rupert Everett all make up for the horror that is Michelle Pfeiffer butchering Shakespeare. If she ever attempts it again, I'm totally attacking her with a spork), It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (best cameo movie ever), Pot O' Gold (because hello? Jimmy Stewart), and this 3 in 1 DVD of Bela Lugosi horror movies. I got the last one because it had a movie I've been dying to get my hands on, The Corpse Vanishes. It may well be one of the worst movies ever made, if it lives up to it's premise: A crazy scientist kidnaps beautiful girls and injects their body fluids into his wife to keep her young. HA! I totally bet you that the original script used the body fluid of pigs but the producers thought no one would believe it.

stampede, misc movies
