TAKING OVER NYC
GREETINGS EVERYONE from NYC!!! That's right!! I am now living in NYC doing that MTV internsship. While sitting around I was thinking about how I always brush off this LJ so I though I would turn my old journal into a new one all about my life here in NYC. To be honest NYC is sooo intimidating and I felt soo small walking around, but I ave been here for little over a week and I am getting used to things here. It's a really great place once you get around and see things.
I had to leave my house around 6:15 to pick up one of my best friends that is also my roomie here (Chelsea). We got to her place picked her up , and then headed to Akron CAnton Airport. Our flight left at 8am and it only took us an hour to get to NY which was AWESOME cuz I don't like airplanes very much :-p. Anyway we got to NY and took a cab to the apartment. I am living in Brooklyn in a secon called Bay Ridge. It;s really nice here as everything is realy close to the apartment.
This is a picture of our apartment door hah as you can see I'm in apartment 3J so come visit haha!. It's a flat so everything is kinda in one room, except the bathroom and kitchen. It's really nice though for brooklyn. I;ll put more pics of the apartment up later. So yeah we didn't get here untill around 11 so of course it was nap time haha we were both poooooooped!
After unpacking alitlle Chelsea decidedit was time for me to get a taste of the NYC subway. I asked to go to time square fitst since I'll be working there. From our apartment it only takes 5 mins to get to the subday station. woo sooo close. and in order to ride you need one of these cards :
NYC METRO CARD. You can pay for a weeks worth up to a months worth. I ended up paying for the month so I wouldn't have to worry about paying more money everytime I went to the station.
The subbaw really isn't that bad to figure out. At first I was freaked out but after riding around it for an entire day I got used to it. Ahah I feel even better about it now after being here for a week now. So we got to times square and WOW IT IS CRAZY SOOOOOOOO MANY PEOPLE THERE. It's soo awesome to look at too. There arr buildings everywhere with lights all over displying the store names and logos and such....
It's really great!!!! After taking a few pictures we stopped by the MTV store as well as the MTV building where I will be working. I'm soo nervous for starting this new job but I know it will be alright. After looking around we left and went to the Hershey store
very nice place ha you could spend a crapload of money here.
After that we went sightseeing some more. Here are just a few pictures of what I saw.
THIS PLACE IS SOOOO GREAT!!!!!!!!! I found this Japanese Bookstore while walking around and I have to say I spent a lot in this store! the first floor is all books.. some in japanese, some on japan, and a lot of manga both in japanese and english. The second floor is all stationary which i fell in love with. I think I spent a total of 3 hours in this store looking at books and stationary. Here is what I ended up buying though...
I am in LOVE with the korean singer Se7en. And I guess this is his newist cd so far and it's actually really good.
All in all though NYC is soo great. I have sooo much more to write about but I think this is enough for now. Tomorrow is my first day of work so I will be sure to update about my first day woowoo!! I'm soo excited yet very nervous at the same time. I hope all goes well.
