Drive-by check-in and fangirling from blizzard country

Feb 10, 2013 04:24

Spent about two hours or so shoveling my way into my driveway last night/this morning after spending two days at work. There was no point to trying to drive home in the storm Friday night, and it was just as well to have an extra nurse in the house Saturday morning, as one fellow was six hours late due to his vehicle embedding itself in a snowbank ( Read more... )

IKR? I have thoughts on who AK would be playing too. Because this show is all about, "Hey, you thought this was true? Guess what, it's not!" Which would mean they would have to have scenes together, potentially sniping at each other, which would be awesome.

Now, who is Katie Cassidy, and why is this awesome? Because if she is awesome, I want to know about her.

You're right, I do think he's doing really well here. I just wish we saw more of him, even though the show is Arrow and not Merlyn, and his character sort of has to be in the periphery by design.

Desperate Housewives was another story. I watched precisely one full episode, then gave up and waited for fandom to provide clips of just his story arc, which fandom kindly did. For all that he fanboyed all over the show in general and Eva Longoria in particular, that performance did seem phoned in. Then again, it was the first time (that I'm aware of) that he played the calm sociopath plotting evil, which he's definitely doing much better this time.

Thanks. Definitely staying put today. If school isn't cancelled tomorrow (we're expecting more slush on top of what we have), then I'll have to venture out, but otherwise, that'd be day two of staying indoors with the hot chocolate. Definitely the best way to spend a blizzard or post-blizzard.

YESSS. That and seeing It's So Good To Be Bad Merlyn sniping at anyone would be awesome; because it is. =D I also wish we saw more of him, and I'm hoping we're moving just a bit in that direction despite the necessity of his being on the fringes. On the upside, having him in as such a formidable nemesis on two fronts at once should, I hooope, ensure his longevity across the seasons.

Katie Cassidy = Laurel. During my brief but very intense affair with Supernatural, she played an interesting, complicated and generally badass demon (known to fandom as Ruby One), and she was a delight. Cue giganto girlcrush, basically. Granted, I can't say I've been overwhelmed with feelings for the character so far, but she's why I first tuned in, and it's her first post-SPN project I could get into.

Mmmm, hot chocolate + cozy indoors = best way to confront white stuff happenings.

Oh! See, I knew I recognized her, but could not for the life of me place where. Now I know it was probably SPN memes/icons/whatever that I've scrolled past. (The only episode I ever watched was The Fanfiction Episode.)

Her character has tons of potential, and we got a glimpse of it in this last episode, I think. Otherwise, for a lawyer, she has surprisingly little agency so far. Hoping for more of the badass, spit-in-the-bad-guy's-face Laurel in future eps.

Oh, I would love it if he got multiple seasons. *nods* *crosses fingers*

Actually, the formula I've been using is dark hot chocolate + Bailey's Irish Cream + Kahlua = Snow? What snow? :-D
