So, I'm celebrating having survived my third-to-last week of clinicals by catching up reading some of the umpty-million fics I've had open in tabs for ... well, ages. Quite a few are from the
hp10k_showcase at the end of March. Eventually, I'll work my way back to the fics I have open from Yuletide. Seriously.
Anyway, I particularly enjoyed this story, and so I rec it. I don't rec SS/HG very often anymore, because by the time I get around to it, everyone on my flist seems to have been there first. This one, however, seems to have largely flown under the usual radar.
Title:
Scenes from a Remarkable MarriageAuthor:

oldenuf2nbLength/Word Count: ~8600
Pairing: Snape/Hermione
Rating: PG-13
Summary: To most people, Hermione Granger and Severus Snape were an unlikely couple. But Minerva McGonagall had been in a position to know them both well, and saw what others could not.
My reasons for reccing: This fic makes a wonderful transition from a 7th-year AU to a very slowly growing romance that gives the two a chance to be on more equal footing first. It has a prickly but noble Snape, a forthright and determined Hermione, and lovely artwork accompanying it that evokes the stages of their relationship’s growth very nicely.
