So, Cymbalta

Day 2 and I had to force myself to actually swallow the damned thing this morning. I know, intellectually, that side effects tend to be worse at the outset, tend to back off after a bit, but it still goes against some pretty basic survival instincts to put something in your mouth that you're fairly certain is responsible for making you feel nauseous as hell the day before. Also, I can't say that it's done much for the fibro, though it certainly did a grand job dulling other sensations right away. Sooo, it'll take awhile to do the good stuff it's supposed to be doing for me, but the not so good stuff, that starts right off. That's seriously unfair.

And if today and tomorrow are as bad as yesterday, I'm skipping Monday. Yes, I know that's probably not the best idea ever. No way I'm trying to take that unit test feeling like this. Bad enough that we're taking it in a new classroom at the new campus that none of us (including the prof) have seen yet, and we might not even be able to get into it. Last any of us heard, the certificate of occupancy was still up in the air, but administration wouldn't let our prof hold our exam in our old/current classroom at the old campus. Idiots.

In more amusing news, one of the students in the pre-calc class I TA for made me laugh this week. I've been trying to break him of calling me "Miss." I've pointed out that I'm just another student who happens to have taken this stuff already. So he stopped. He switched to calling me "Professor." *headdesk* Begged him not to do that either, and he said, "Well, I can't just call you by your given name. You're my elder." *grayheaddesk* Yeah, clearly it's time to touch up the color. Haven't done it since July, and so I've got about three inches of more-salt-than-pepper on my head, which obviously isn't helping matters. He's switched back to "Miss." At least he's a polite young man. LOL

I may not be TA for that class much longer though. The tutoring center is seriously short-staffed and would probably rather have me there for two hours Mon-Wed mornings rather than in a classroom. That would actually be fine with me.

Hoping to get some writing done this weekend, amidst everything else. Yesterday was a wash, though I did manage a silly Tonks/Snape drabble on Thursday for tonks_100's prompt "orange and black." Why is it there are more drabble comms for either the guys or the ships than for the women?
