Finished watching Veronica Mars last week. I'm still boggled that's how they left it. I did like Season 3 overall though. I just wish they'd wrapped it up a bit better, and I'm crossing my fingers that the comics rumor has something to it. And then, of course, there's fic for the "I want more" fix.
Started watching Dr. Who this week, and I'm hooked already. May hook Patsfan as well. I've told him he has to at least watch the first ep, as I know he'll get a kick out of some of the London scenes. I watched the Eccleston interview and one part of it made me wonder if the assorted aliens who turned up in the second ep were supposed to refer back to the earlier series eps somehow. I do want to watch the 70's series someday, if only because I remember catching glimpses of it when it would come on channel 2 after some kid's show and my mother would freak out and shut it off. Guess she thought she was protecting me from turning into some weird sci-fi obsessed kid. That worked well.
Oh, and as far as Rose/9, I knew there was a lot of fic out there to that effect, but I hadn't realized it was so practically canon. By the end of the second ep, I was quoting another Englishman well-versed in the weird/paranormal: "Erm, I think the, erm, subtext here is, erm, rapidly becoming, erm, text."
Er, and what's so horrible about Cardiff?
Also started reading Sebastian at long last. So far I'm liking it. Much better than Bishop's Pillars of the World series. Seems she does much better creating a world completely from scratch rather than trying to anchor it to ours at all. It's hard not to keep comparing to the Black Jewels (Landscapes versus Webs, Landscapers versus Black Widows), but so far the comparison isn't hurting it.
Got a bit of writing done on a couple of different things, and I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get more done this weekend. I have a third shift tonight, and I'm planning to bring the laptop so that I can even write smut if I've the time and inspiration, something I usually won't do at work. However, with the lovely new database and month end stuff, I may not, in fact, have time to do anything.
