This is kind of fun!
I was a little surprised to get a request for permission to translate the "Granger-Snape Family Christmas Drabbles," originally written for adventdrabbles on IJ, into Russian. I agreed and asked to have the link when it was posted, which I received this morning. Babelfish actually did a half decent job of letting me know who's saying what, surprising the heck out of me. Comments, whee!
Apparently SS/HG is a popular ship in Russia, as I've seen quite a few flisters mention requests for permission to translate their stories. That's neat.
I confess to being amused that, at least once translated back to English again via Babelfish, "Daddy Santa" comes out as "Pope Santa."
Good thing I do check my bulk mail before dumping it though, or I'd have missed it. Silly spam filter.
