And I'm on the worship committee because ...

... I'm a nutjob? Yeah, that must be it. We had a meeting after church today, and a big theme is diversifying the offerings. One idea, which the minister initially floated in a conversation last Spring, and which I endorse, is taking a particular theme, and having several points of view on that theme covered over a period of several weeks.

December kind of ends up coming down to that anyway, as we usually do something Hannukah, something Solstice, something Christmas, and something Kwanzaa. So I'm the "something Solstice" or at least "something Pagan" this year, doing my Apollo service on the 12th. Good to have a deadline. Then we're going to try having the month of January cover "what is a church," having our minister do one week, a visiting minister another, and a lay leader yet another.

At least I'm not the chairperson this time. Not taking up that mantle again anytime soon. Though I have a sinking feeling I may end up taking over the newsletter, as our new editor was just diagnosed with some serious health problems.
