Hard vacuum. Jayne wasn't inclined to think about it much, what with not bein' technical and all. Worryin' about all that space outside was for Kaylee, and Wash, those that ran Serenity. But whatever was left of Kaylee was in the hard vacuum now, wall blown out of the engine room. And Wash too, cannon holes through the bridge. Mal and Zoe groundside, crazy River and the doc taken by those damn bounty hunters. Only air was in the infirmary, and it wouldn't last. Jayne touched a syringe, then his Bowie knife, and then his hand settled on his pistol.
