Well that was quick...

So after 8 years working the same job I'm going to be leaving...mostly.

I'm starting a position in a few weeks at Whole Foods Market in Milwaukee. I'm excited and terrified all at the same time.  The worst part about the new job will be working full on retail hours again. But I'll be getting more vacation time in the long run, and hopefully holiday pay, so I'm trying to tell myself not to worry about the details.

The flower shop is in a bit of a weird space since I am leaving. I'm trying to stay on part time for a bit, especially for the assorted computer things that I do that no one else knows how too.

Quitting was more tear filled then expected, from both myself and my boss.

Oi.  After 15 years I don't know if I'll be able to call myself a florist anymore.  I'll still have the side business, which I hope will still count.  Seriously it's such a huge part of my identity.  Half my life has been spent in flower shops.  I'm not sure I've come to grips with the weight of my decision yet.

On the happiest side of the news, Jenn and I had some pictures printed in the 'Picture Perfect Weddings' feature in Florist Review.  It's a yearly issue that that put out of pictures of cool wedding trends and the best weddings of the year.  We submitted a lot of pics from 3 different weddings. Four of our pictures got chosen, which we thought was pretty bad ass.  We're pretty excited to be publish, especially considering we're still only in our first year of business.

Also, loving the new Andrew Bird album.  Danse Caribe is in my head always. I love the line 'Here we go mistaking clouds for mountains..' and I am singing in all the time.  Dunno why.
