Watching Big Love in the dark
Power’s out! (Well, not right now obviously, but it was earlier.) Apparently some kind of maintenance has been happening on local power plants so I’ve been spending some time each evening hanging out in the dark, huddled over the glow of my laptop.
I was really embarrassed when my parents mailed me that camping lantern soon after I moved to India (it just seemed sort of unnecessary and I was very invested in trying to come off as cool and unfazed by everything, which is hard to maintain when your parents send you a giant box filled with stuff you can buy right down the street because they’re worried about you) but actually it has come in very handy. The dozen D-cell batteries they sent along with it really were overkill, though.
If Facebook is anything to go by, pretty much everyone I know in the Northeast had a snow day today. It’s about 90 degrees here! Some snow and a day off sounds good right now … (If I had spent the last three months experiencing the rest of the winter I’d probably be clawing at the walls desperate for spring, of course.)
