Yesterday I went on LJ in the library for about 2 seconds to check Buff State stuff, and of course Mrs. Campbell caught me. I really didn't think she would write me up, but she did. This morning I was called down to the office but you know what guys...Mr. Weymann was really cool about it. He laughed and said how it was the first time that he had ever seen my name (hence the longest pause in the world after my name in the announcements!). I explained to him that I was just checking something for my college, and that I knew I shouldn't have been on. And he explained that they are going to start treating livejournaling differently and that yes it is against school policy. But he just said I was a good kid and that was it...no detention, no nothing. I was definately relieved. But it makes me think that maybe we aren't being as fair to Mr. Weymann and the administrators as we are to jo and laila. I am all for free speech, but what is the school to do? Put yourself in their shoes, they either punish laila and jo and face critisim from us or they let them go and face critisism from those involved. They were really put in a hard place. And imagine finding this site about yourself...I would definately want someone to be punished. I think they may have gone a bit far, but I don't know what I would have done if I was them. Well, anyway, that is just my opinion, I am going to support you guys and this issue, but I still don't think it is right to fight this unless they follow through with more severe punishments (including the disrecommendation letter). So yeah...and oh, Mr. Weymann knows that I am firefighterkim...so yeah, I am not worried about it though, I have never said anything or posted anything malicious towards anyone. I just kind of feel like I am being watched now. So okay, thanks for the vent...
