Almost-Poetry
She doesn't even remember how this conversation got started, and now he's almost melted her down completely, warm fuzzies and all.
"...sometimes, all you have to do is say something, or look at me, and... I know I'm not much for words, but every so often you strike a chord that makes me want to talk. I can't come up with poetry, but when you do that-you stop me in my tracks-it makes me wonder if I could come close. Almost-poetry... not-quite-profound."

He calls her this year's Helen. She laughs and forever banishes eloquence.

Props to Wormhole on ff.net. This came to being shortly after I read the latest installment of "A Moment in Time." I started thinking about how Elizabeth/Torri is pretty enough to be a Helen, and I had this vision of John and Elizabeth, standing in the middle of the hallway.... Well, the rest is history.
