I think a ghost just came into my room. Not really, but I thought I'd closed the door completely and it just opened and shut in the wind. It's raining! Everyone keeps looking at me funny because I'm so happy and dancing in the rain, but that's okay. Apparently it's acceptable to use umbrellas here, which makes me happy because umbrellas are fun. Had my first Spanish test a little bit ago, I think it went really well. It was really funny because the entire first page was about this Shakira music video that our profe had us watch. The first actual band rehearsal was last night (we get to rehearse in the chapel! the sound is nuts and there's a beautiful pipe organ right behind us). Glen the band guy asked me to read 1st clarinet, which was scary enough but the other first guy was like 40 and amazingly good. I haven't really played in the last month or two, so I was a little rusty, and I've never played with contacts instead of glasses and apparently they unfocus if I try reading fast music, which is very bad. That said, I think I did pretty well, considering how hard the music was - we're doing the overture from Pirates of Penzance and some Mussorgsky stuff which is crazy but lots of fun. I was almost in tears after the first half though, because the first guy was not friendly and clearly was highly unimpressed with having to share a part with me. But then maybe that was just me.

Alright, I need to walk down to the bank. But it's so nice having some peace and quiet for once, while everyone's at class and Kate's downstairs working. My friends are great, but it's nice to have some alone time. I love this place, living here is like being in a bubble, but a semipermeable one... it can extend to the town, and we're still up on current events. Schyler and I canvassed again yesterday! it was actually a little depressing because the neighborhood we were in was very pro-McCain. Friendly, but still...
Ah well.
