This week really has been jam packed and amazing. Much as I dislike stress and having to sit still for hours on end, show weeks are my favorite of the year. I adore playing in the pit, I really don't think there could be anything better. And everyone's doing such a great job, it makes it even better.
Yesterday was a day of random extremes. AWE went to this huge vocal workshop that was fairly disappointing, except for the wonderful food and the bus ride (sitting next to Sarah Brown, and holding breath across the bridge...). And then dinner with my lovely seniorvocalbandies at subway and to the show! Which was fantastic last night. Great audience, and Chart brought masses of musician jokes to while away the hours (Why is a viola called "bratsche" in German? Because that's the sound it makes when you sit on it).
The one downside was that the Black Box was icy. Really cold. Playing a horn with cold fingers is really quite difficult - we used our lamps as hand warmers.
But then to ice cream, which was the most amazing thing ever, just about. We were so giddy and tired that many fits of laughter ensued. Got home and felt miserable for a few hours. Really awful. But late-night conversations about random nothing made things better.
and now it's time to make banana bread!
