Wow! Wonderful weekend.
I have just got back from a lovely evening with Sara_Lou and her partner (and Mark, of course) at La Ruga in Walthamstow, a fabulous (if quirky) Italian restaurant.
Yesterday Mark and I went to Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne, Herts, for his birthday present from me - feeding the lemurs. Paradise Wildlife Park is ace - home to a wide range of interesting creatures, and at least three different kinds of lemur. Mark spent a happy hour with three keepers, feeding fruit to various lemurs, inside their cages - to the envy of many passersby. I took tons of photos, and once I work out how to post them, will do so.
I heartily recommend it as a place to visit, even if we did get sprayed with tiger pee by a rather protective tiger who was defending his dinner from all comers! We saw toucans, parrots, capybara, meerkats, 3 types of tamarin, pygmy marmosets, snakes, lizards, camels, alpaca, camels, otters (and baby otters), tigers, lions, jaguars, purring cheetahs, and a wonderful baby snow leopard, practising the arts of Kitten-Fu on his mother's tail.
It was _awesome_ !
