So here's my story for the day:
My dad made my mom this nice little shelf thingy (for lack of a better word) for her cooking books and promised me that when he'd be done with that he'd make a DVD/VHS rack for our movies. Currently my poor little DVDs are sitting on the cold basement floor in a neat little pile, unable to be recognized and awed over. The shelf 'thingy' is done and set up in the dining room. My mother is infamous for her ability to procrastinate and probably will not get her books in there until a month later. My dad filled up the top shelf with some of her cooking books for her because he wanted to see what it looked like. I was feeling rather sympathetic for my DVDs today and I decided I would give them a temporary home, at least until my mom puts her books in the shelf or my dad builds a DVD rack...whichever comes first. They're set up all neat and narrow on the one shelf, they look so darn good! They fit perfectly in it. There's not a space left over nor a DVD left out. They are set up alphabetically, at first I tried to do it chronologically by the time I bought them but I couldn't remember. I'm a little afraid for my mother to come home because she will probably get upset that I'm using her shelf space for something it's not intended to hold. She weird like that. But her books aren't even in it yet!!!! I will just explain to her that it is a temporary home and I will move them as soon as she decides she wants to put her books in. I dont' know...we'll see. I mean nothing too bad, she won't be throwing books at me or anything, but she will "have a cow" in the words of my dad who first brought this issue to my attention. I will post back later with the results. Ha. Let's see if she even notices.
Human Body Exhibit tomorrow with the mom! w00t. (and maybe Liz...?)
