Speaking

I found this website today. I'm sure many of you grammar nazis will enjoy it.

http://painintheenglish.com

Reading it, I realized that my experience and course work in speech therapy provides me with unique insight on WHY some of these errors occur.

A refrain heard repeatedly in this blog is "you are only as smart as you sound." I tend to believe this as well. It is part of what got me into this business to begin with. I think I know what I want to focus on.

I want to do Voice.

Accent modification (both foreign and native)
Transgender voice augmentation
Adult articulation (Reducing lisps, and teaching "r")
Vocal quality (vocal nodules and vocal abuse and whatnot)

Too bad there are no jobs out there just for that.
School or hospital blah blah blah.
I'd have to go into private practice and I can't do that for a few years. gotta get my certificate of clinical competence and that takes year long slavery :(

(Yes, I know I dangled a participle or 2 above)

grad school, speech pathos
