When I found out there was someone playing Hong Kong I just had to check it out! Are you a Hong Kong resident too? I was wondering, because I noticed some things about him that seem a bit off to me. I could let you know, if you're curious.

I'm actually a Singapore-born Hong Konger, but despite visiting relatives in HK on a yearly basis I've never actually lived there for any longer than two weeks, h-haha orz;

Haha, yes they do eat them but they have a different word for it. It's not like they'd hand it to you and go "Here! Pig penis!"

First off, I am well aware of the difference between Mandarin and Cantonese, seeing as how I've spoken Cantonese pretty much exclusively at home for the 16 years of my life :Da In this AU, though, as China and HK are brothers, their backstory makes it so it wouldn't be plausible for him to be a fluent speaker. I chose instead to work in the codeswitching part of Cantonese into his Mandarin to make up for it, though-- plus if you think about it, written out there wouldn't be any difference save for traditional vs simplified and the such \o ( ... )

Haha, well I was hoping I could be helpful but it looks like I failed. Sorry if it felt like a lecture..and worse yet, a lecture on something you already knew all about. ;;

I just really love Hong Kong and love to talk about it at every opportunity. ;w;
