I got some really bad news when I got out to Naperville today for the Fire Game... one of my friends from the Arena had a heart attack on the way home from the Heartthrobs concert this morning and she didn't make it...
We all got signed out of the Arena at 12:45 and I know John drove Terry and her sister Marzette to the train so they could go home... evidently on the way home on the train, Terry wasn't feeling too good and they stopped the train... Paramedics were called... but she didn't make it...
The last time I saw her last night was when she was on her break... she'd come downstairs to find out how one of my ushers was doing (Jenny almost passed out last night due to heat and same with one of the Rosemont cops Noel (or Noelle?))... I filled Terry in and she looked at me and told me I should be careful, I was looking rather pink myself but I turned the tables on her and said, "Nah, I'll be alright... you need to be careful up in that balcony Terry... all the heat rises so you watch yourself... I don't want to hear on the radio that you've dropped in the balcony so you take care alright?" She chuckled and we hugged and she went to finish her break and head back upstairs... that was the last time I saw her... I feel like open-mouth-insert-foot... of all the ways I could have phrased it...
I feel so bad for Marzette... their mom's been sick for awhile already, and now this... she's got a rough road ahead of her...
I start my first shift at Trace tomorrow and with this on my mind, it's just not gonna help... I told one of my supervisors tonight, "Watch, my first patient tomorrow is gonna be a heart attack... just watch..." I've got that kind of feeling right now...
To top it all off... Kurt's still going to Honduras in two weeks... and I've still got a bad feeling about that... the Universe just isn't giving me a good feeling right now... I don't much like tests... I may pass them, but I don't like them...
Well, it's about 11:30 and I really should get some sleep... I've gotta be at Trace at 8:30 in the morning to inspect my ambulance before my shift at 9...
Good night... as if I'll really get any sleep...
