7. Grave Surprise, Charlaine Harris

Harper Connelly has a gift. If you're looking for a corpse, she can find it. And if she's close to it, she can tell you the cause of death. When a skeptical professor invites her to demonstrate her skills on an abandoned graveyard, she finds an unexpected addition - the body of a young girl she failed to find a few years before. I really enjoyed this one. Harper is a sympathetic character, who has learned to deal with the skepticism and scoffing of those around her. Entertaining mystery, well conceived and developed characters.

8. My Big, Fat Supernatural Wedding, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Charlaine Harris, L. A. Banks, and Jim Butcher

What happens when a vampire is marrying a werewolf? Or a Hatfield is marrying a McCoy - with the addition of "conjuring" on both sides of the family? This is an entertaining set of short stories; a great way to spend an afternoon.
