So last night I arrive at our weekly dinner party and I hear two other guests talking about the upcoming Throbbing Gristle show.
The WHAAAAAAAAAA?!?!?!?
The upcoming Throbbing Gristle show, that's whaaaaaaaaa. The band that coined the phrase "Industrial Music (for Industrial People)" has reunited and is playing in Chicago in less than two month's time. I did not know this because I am terrible at keeping up with the music press. The show is sold out, but fortunately they are looking to add a second, which should be announced this week. I cannot miss this. I may have passed on the last couple of Psychic TV shows but this is.... IT, really. to see them play live, and have them sign my copy of Second Annual Report that I fished out of a discount bin back in 1996 (complete with a notch punched in the spine of the jewel case)...
By the way, if there is any music that I suggest you DO NOT listen to with headphones, in the dark, it's Throbbing Gristle. Because that's what I did and look how I turned out. Let me be a warning to ye all!
