nanowrimo

So November is supposed to be national novel writing month (nanowrimo), and since I like to write and never get the push to do a novel, I thought I'd try it out. The goal is 50,000 words in 30 days. It didn't sound so bad to me, but trust me, keeping to a regimen, and actually being accountable for those words in that time frame, really makes you get it done. I'm at 30,000 words! yay! ...Now I'm only 3,333 words behind where i should be if i were writing evenly throughout the month.

I really like the story, too! i want to get it published when it's done. It's sorta Green Rider meets Firefly. I've also been sharing it with a friend who's an english teaching major. He's been helpful, just to tell me that everything's consistent. What i'd really like is to go through it and pick it apart page by page. I definitely have a lot of filling out to do. a bunch of my characters are more flat than i wanted, so they kinda switch between flat when i don't need them, and inflated when i do. I'll have to fix that.

Maybe it'll be good.
