Chapter 1

The city of Bangkok was quiet, at least it seemed that way to most of the inhabitants. Deep within the underbelly, however, there was the criminal underworld. Crime was rampant throughout the city, but all was not lost. A pair of mysterious men, going by the initials G and M, roamed over the city. They sought out all wrong doers, doing their part to save the city from the overwhelming crime and evil that threatened to engulf its inhabitants.

One such occurrence was late one Sunday night. The pair of crime fighters waited for their prey at a local jewelry store. The eldest, G, was shorter than his sidekick and brother; thus, was the butt of many jokes from his sidekick regarding this fact. A thin black mask covered his eyes, masking his identity. A thin black cape was thrown over his shoulder, his black and silver outfit covering most of his body in a triangle like pattern. "What's going on down there?"

The taller and youngest, M, was trying his best to hide his smirk. He, too, had a cape over his shoulder, but the sleeveless shirt set off the biceps in his arms to great advantage. With a smirk, he answered his companion. "You know, if you weren't so short, Peechai, you could tell."

"Shut the hell up and just tell me."

Smirking, M related the events down on the street. They were perched on top of a building, watching said criminals on the street getting ready to make their getaway after robbing the jewelry store. No one seemed to be in the area; it was the perfect time for them to make their move. With a glance at one another, G pulled out a grappling hook and sent it flying across the street into the adjacent building. With it secure, the pair held on and flew down to the street to overcome the criminals.

Not too far from the jewelry store was a young woman named Kaede. Having come from a rather poor farming family, she was thrilled that she was going to be start a job soon as a personal assistant with GM Grammy; her new job was slated to start the next day. So just what was a pretty, young woman like herself doing out at a time like this? If one were to look at the outfit she was wearing, they may be able to guess the reason. Still wearing her outfit from her waitressing job at a nearby themed cafe, Kaede was finally on her way home. Despite landing the new job, she refused to stop working her old one until the absolute last minute; that meant the difference between being able buy medicine for her family or not! How could she turn that down?

Stretching a little, she turned the corner to see several dodgy looking men running out of the neighborhood jewelry store, heading straight for her. She froze in her tracks, panic taking over. What should she do? She was a witness now, wasn't she? The news was always full of stories about what happened to witnesses to crimes, and they weren't very pretty. The men drew ever closer, but she couldn't seem to will herself to move. It seemed that they were headed for a collision course, so she did the only thing she could think of: she squeezed her eyes shut.

The sounds of of the men escaping momentarily had the duo distracted. Neither saw the young woman until the last minute.

"Peechai! Look!" M pointed to the terrified young woman, the men surrounding her menacingly.

"Let’s go!" G took a step forward, the arm band on his left arm brightening to a red color. He flew through the air, kicking one of the guys.

"Get away from her!" The cry came from M, whose arm band similarly glowed, but this time in a green color. Fists went flying, the thieves falling back with each blow. M finally came to stand near the girl, his arm wrapped around her protectively, even as he dealt with one of the last of the thieves. "Are you okay, miss?"

Kaede heard sounds of a fight around her, and expected to be hit at any moment. Her eyes stayed shut the entire time until she felt a reassuring arm around her, and a kind voice speaking. She opened her eyes slowly, still feeling scared from the ordeal, and locked her eyes onto whomever her mysterious rescuer was. He was wearing a mask to hide his identity, but she could see his eyes clearly. They were expressive, gentle, and so striking that she couldn't take her eyes off of them. "...I-I'm...I'm fine." But even as the words escaped her lips, she felt her knees buckle, causing her to fall against her rescuer. "Th-thank you..."

"Careful, I got you!" M wrapped his arm around her, keeping her on her feet. He smiled down at her, his eyes never leaving hers. "You should be more careful where you walk at night, miss. Did they hurt you at all?"

"I hate to break up this love fest," G drawled, poking his brother on the arm to get his attention. He nodded toward the police sirens that were coming closer. "We need to go."

"Ah...right." A slight flush crept over M's cheeks before he gently let go of the young woman. He joined his brother, the two glowing red and green before soaring up into the sky and disappearing just as the police arrived.

Kaede watched as the duo vanished. Who were they? And would she ever see her mysterious rescuer again? The police rushed to her, making sure she was alright, while another group arrested the criminals. Many people say that the night before starting a new job can be nerve wracking, but Kaede never expected anything like this.

--------------------

"Oh no! I'm going to be late!" Kaede got off the crowded bus, which seemed to be stalled in the middle of standstill traffic. It was late by the time the police dropped her off at home, so it was understandable that she didn't notice when her alarm clock started to ring this morning. She ran at full speed, weaving through the busy Bangkok streets until she arrived: GM Grammy's main office.

"Thank god...I just made it..." She breathed a sigh of relief before she dashed off to where she was told to meet the people she would soon be working for. She had been hired as a personal assistant to one of the company's leading talents. They said it was their policy not to disclose who beforehand, but that didn't matter to Kaede; she had a job after all! Checking her watch as she ran, she didn't notice when a young man turned the corner, and couldn't stop herself from running into him.

"Oh no! I'm so sorry!!!" Kaede exclaimed as she felt the impact.

"Are you okay?!" The young man she ran into asked, his arms wrapping around her instinctively to keep her from falling. He looked down at her, his dark hair pushed back and held in place by a hair accessory. He gave her a kind smile; there was nothing threatening in the slightest about the looks he gave her.

Thank goodness whoever it was that she had run into had caught her; otherwise, Kaede was sure she's be sprawled out on the floor by now. It was a bonus that this person didn't seem angry either. She looked up at him, blushing at the fact that she was now locked in an embrace with a total stranger. Are you okay, miss? Those words from last night came echoing back to her, and weren't they spoken in a voice so similar to this one? Or was her mind just playing tricks on her? She found herself staring into his eyes for a moment; they definitely felt familiar to her. "Why do I feel like this has happened before..." Her words were spoken quietly and with a smile, just above a whisper, as she studied the young man's face.

A noise somewhere down the hall brought Kaede out of her daze, and she almost literally jumped out of her rescuers arms. "Thank you so much, but I have to run! They're expecting me in room 412. Hopefully, I'll see you around!" It was obvious that she was flustered, but that didn't keep her from smiling warmly at the young man before dashing off, muttering under her breath about how she was late for her first day of work.

"Yo, Pirath!"

Pirath Nitipaisalkul looked up as his name was called and groaned. "Saa, Peechai?"

"Come on, we're gonna be late!" Pichaya, Pirath's older brother, grabbed a hold of his brother's hand and dragged him along. "P'Manager will kick our asses if we're late!"

"Right." Pirath followed after his brother, his mind still on the young lady he'd just met.

Making he way into room 412, Kaede was relieved to discover that they hadn't gotten started yet. There was only one other person in the room; a middle aged woman with a friendly smile invited her in. Kaede surmised that this must be her new manager. It looked like the people she'd would be assisting hadn't arrived yet.

"Ah! Welcome, welcome, Kaede." The woman in the suit extended her hand to Kaede, and the young woman shook it warmly. "After reading the paper this morning, I was wondering if you were going to show up at all!"

"Oh! Well, I wasn't going to let that interfere with my first day of work. And it's nice to meet you too."

"Well," the older woman checked her watch. "Looks like those boys are late again. Hopefully you'll be able to help them with that."

Kaede smiled and nodded. It was then that two young men entered the room.

"Ah. Glad you guys could make it. I have someone that I'd like to introduce to you."

But Kaede's eyes were already wide when she saw who came through the door. She could feel her cheeks going red with shame as she looked to the floor. Of all the luck; standing in the room was the very person she had collided with just that morning!

"P'Mai, à-pai! We overslept!" Pichaya bowed politely to their manager, asking for forgiveness for their lateness. He poked his brother in the side, who started and bowed in turn. Pirath hadn't been expecting to see the girl he ran into that morning.

"Saa, à-pai! Last night was a long night of practice," Pirath said after straightening up. "Introduce us to who?"

"Pichaya, Pirath, I'd like you to meet Kaede. We've just hired her to be your personal assistant. As you guys might know, I've been given two more groups to manage in addition to you guys, so she's going to be helping me take care of your day-to-day needs. Don't freak her out too much, okay?" The manager turned and winked at Kaede. "Kaede, meet Pichaya and Pirath Nitipaisalkul. Around here, they're known as Golf and Mike." Checking her watch again, their manager frowned a little. "Okay, I need to go meet your new choreographer in the studio. Why don't you guys wait here for me, and get to know Kaede in the meantime. In about an hour, you guys'll be meeting the choreographer, and I'll meet with Kaede to get her up to speed on her job." Making a beeline for the door, the older woman gave them a no-nonsense nod before leaving.

"Um...nice to meet you both...I hope I can be helpful to both of you..." Kaede tilted her eyes up shyly, giving the two brothers a timid smile.

"It's a pleasure to meet you," Pichaya said softly, giving her a wink. He smirked at his brother, who was just staring at her, a bit distracted. Lips quirking slightly, he reached out and waved his hand in front of Pirath's face. "Earth to Pirath. Come in Pirath."

Waving his brother's hand away, Pirath blushed. "Stop it, Peechai."

Seeing Pichaya's easy going manner made Kaede breathe a sigh of relief; she lifted her head up and smiled a touch more confidently at them. "I heard that you guys are getting ready for a concert soon. It must be a lot of work, so please don't hesitate to ask me for anything. I'm really happy to have gotten this position, and want to do a good job." She turned her eyes to the younger, yet taller, of the two brothers. "Um...and I'm really very sorry to have crashed into you in the hall earlier, Pirath..." Kaede could feel herself blushing. "If there's anything I can do to make it up to you, please let me know." She gave Pirath a small nod indicating that she was serious about that statement. After all, she was going to be working with them now, and didn't want any hard feelings.

Pirath gave a glare at his brother, who poked him in the side. He looked at their new assistant and couldn't help but blush slightly. "Uhm well..you could start by having dinner with me tonight?"

"Slick, nong chai. Real slick there." Pichaya rolled his eyes at his brother. He needed lessons on how to ask girls out. Really.

"..." Kaede blinked at the younger of the two brothers before smiling at him in total innocence. "So...you'd like me to cook?" After all, that made sense right? She owed him, so it was up to her to make reparations. But something in the way Pirath looked at her made her look at him inquisitively again. "No? That's not what you meant? I'm not sure I understand then, ka..." He couldn't possibly mean...but the look on Pichaya's face made her think twice, and the more she thought about it, the more her cheeks started to go pink. "W-wait...that's not fair. I'm suppose to be doing something for you..."

Okay, that didn't work out exactly the way he'd planned it. Pirath looked over at his brother, who just smirked at him. No help from that quarter. Damnit. Mike cleared his throat and plunged on. "No, it's fair cuz you'll be spending time with me, which is all I really was looking for. And it's uhm...nicer that way."

Rolling his eyes, Pichaya flopped onto the couch. "Really? Do tell."

Kaede couldn't believe what she was hearing; did the guy she had crashed into, who also just happened to be a famous and much-desired pop star, just ask her on...at date? No, no...that couldn't be it. He was just being exceedingly gracious and accommodating, and of course it was natural that he'd want to get to know her a bit since they'd be working together, right? She really shouldn't read more into it.

"Um...okay then...if that's what you'd like." Kaede smiled guilelessly as she nodded her head. But before she could get any further details, the manager rushed back to the room looking a little frazzled.

"Sorry to interrupt the little get-to-know-you session, but something's come up. Kaede, could you come with me? I could use your help." Seeing the slight look of panic in the younger woman's face, the manager smiled. "Don't worry. I know you'll do fine. Boys, get changed and head down to the dance studio. The choreographer is expecting you there for your first lesson."

Nodding her head, Kaede bowed politely to both Pichaya and Pirath before following the manager out. As they sped along the hallways, she took a deep breath, putting a smile on her face. This is what she'd been hired for, to be helpful, and she was going to do her best!

Once they were gone, Pichaya turned to his brother with a shake of his head. "That was THE lamest attempt at asking a girl out I've ever heard in my life. You need help, Pirath."

"Bite me." Pirath retorted, ignoring the smirk on his brother's face as he led the way to the dance studio. Grinning, Pichaya followed after his brother, letting Pirath lead the way to the dance studio.

Inside the studio was a slim young woman with a pair of headphones on. Her long black hair was tied in a low pony tail that swung as she moved. The slightly baggy pants didn't give away any hints as to what her figure looked like, but the cropped top and bared midriff certainly made up for that. She could be heard muttering a quiet "and 5, 6, 7, 8" to herself as she continued to move to music only she could hear, each movement crisp, clean, and effortless.

A few moments passed before she seemed satisfied with whatever was on her mind, and she looked up and noticed the two young men's reflection in the studio mirror. Pulling the headphones off, she smiled at them and waved them in. She looked carefully from one brother to the next before speaking.

"You must be Pichaya," she shook the elder brother's hand before doing the same to the younger. "And you must be Pirath." When they seemed a little surprised at how easily she could name them without having met them before, she smiled and winked. "A little bird told me that the older one was actually the shorter of the two of you. Name's Hwei - it's nice to meet you." She gave them a saucy little two-fingered salute.

"......." Pichaya tried not to glare at Hwei, he really did. But when his brother started snickering, he couldn't help it. "I am NOT short!"

"Woah! Easy there, tiger! If I had known that 'sensitive' should've appeared on your fact-sheet, I wouldn't have brought it up. Anything else I need to know before I bruise more egos?" Hwei arched an eyebrow as she folded her arms across her chest, looking at each of the brothers. She small smirk on her face made it obvious that she enjoyed teasing. "No? Then
let's get started."

"Yes you are, Peechai. Be nice to our new choreographer." Pirath smirked, patting his brother on the head.

Pichaya smacked his brother's hand away, then gave a polite bow to Hwei. "Saa, of course, P'Hwei. I didn't mean to sound angry with you, because I'm not. What did you have in mind?"

"Today is mostly for me to get to know your dancing - get a feel for what you guys can do, and how much I can push things. I've seen videos, but everyone's skills are always changing, so it's probably best for me to see it all first hand. First, I'll warm you guys up, we'll do some short little combos, I'll teach you guys some new choreography, and then see what your partner dancing is like, 'kay? I hope you're wearing layers, cuz I'm gonna make you guys work." The glint in her eye indicated that she was completely serious. She walked over to the stereo and started her CD. "Alright! Warm-up time!"

~~~
"1-2-3, step. 4-5-6, step. 7-8-9, turn." Mumbling to himself as he moved, Pichaya mirrored the movements of his choreographer, Hwei. Their first encounter had been anything but
enjoyable, but he'd soon grown incredibly fond of her. She was smart, beautiful and talented. yet, nothing he did seemed to impress her; no matter how hard he worked, everything he did seemed to have the opposite effect on her and he was getting frustrated by the minute with it all.
"Hey, you're not going to break your partner, you know. You can't hold her so lightly and expect to be able to lead properly. Here. More like this." She moved his hand well onto the small of her back, giving him the feel of just how securely he needed to hold whoever he might have to dance with. "Yeah. There you go. Much better." Except now he was looking at his feet, which just wouldn't do. "Chin up, and look at me. What the audience wants to see is the connection between you and your partner. You have to make it seem like you're trying to seduce one another with your eyes alone." She locked her eyes on his with an intense gaze, her lips curling into a small smirk. "Think you can handle it?"
"Saaa...I think I can manage." Golf couldn't help but smirk, looking her over carefully. Brushing back a lock of his hair, he took his position and and placed his hands on her hips, his eyes gazing deeply into hers. The music started, and he let it guide him, pulling her close and moving into the music.
The two of them danced for a few more counts of eight before Hwei nodded her head, her expression changing from an intense, smoldering gaze to an easy smile. "Alright. Your turn, Mike." And with that, she released her hold on the older brother and turned her attention to the younger. "Let me change the music first." She had a different mood in mind for him. She took her position, instructing him on how to hold her and going over the steps a few times. "Alright, now that you've got the footwork down, let's set the mood. Imagine you're dancing with the girl you care the most about in the world; how would you look at her? How would you hold her, guide her? Try to keep all that in mind okay?" With that, Hwei put on the music and counted them in.
Mike smirked at his brother, who gave him a dark look but didn't say anything. Taking her in his arms, Mike led her around in the dance, his thoughts going to the young woman who was their new assistant. His movements were smooth and graceful, causing Golf to arch an eyebrow at his brother's performance. It usually took Mike lots of practice to get something down, but not this time.
As was the case with Golf, Hwei nodded and stopped their dancing after a few phrases of music and released her partner. "Great job!" Despite wanting to be impartial about her reaction, she couldn't help the comment. Hwei had noticed that Mike seemed the more hesitant of the two when it came to learning choreography, but he really seemed to shine in that last bit.
"Great job both of you." She bowed politely to each of them. "I'll see you guys tomorrow. I know we're on a tight schedule, so I'm auditioning your backup dancers in..." She glanced up at the clock on the wall "About 15 minutes it seems." Just enough time for her to grab a drink and a small bite to eat. "We'll be starting work with them tomorrow." Grabbing her water bottle and taking a long sip from it, she waved goodbye to them. "Take care, okay?"
"You too, P'Hwei!!" Mike waved to her excitedly, pleased with his performance. He grinned happily at his brother before heading out of the room.
Golf watched his brother go off before he turned his attention to Hwei. "Don't work too hard." He watched her for another moment before sighing and leaving her to her dance
auditions. With Mike going out to dinner that night, it was up to him to patrol the streets of Bangkok for criminals.
~~~

Exhausted - that was probably the best word Hwei could come up with to describe how she felt at that moment. Two rounds of auditions later, she had picked their cast and informed them of her choices. By the time all the paperwork had been sorted out, it was already dark outside. She yawned and stretched lightly as she stood just outside the doorway of the GMM Grammy building. Landing this job was a big break for her, and she was determined to do a great job with it. With a quiet sigh, she set out on her way home; maybe she could grab some dinner somewhere.

Unbeknownst to the young choreographer, several shadowy characters were waiting for her as she left. A few blocks away from the office, she started to get the feeling that something wasn't quite right. When she came to a stop at a quiet street corner, that's when they decided to make their move.

"So, the hot-shot choreographer thinks she's all that, knows just who to cut and who to keep."

"I think she needs a lesson on just who the best stage dancers out there are."

"Don't you know anything?! I've danced in GM Grammy's shows before!"

Great. Just great. Hwei did her best to keep her temper in check and calmly faced the group of angry young men.

"I was able to read your resumes, so I'm well aware of your previous accomplishments. That's what got you the call in the first place. However, while you're all excellent dancers in your own right, I was only looking to cast 10 dancers. So, thank you again for your efforts, and good luck with your future endeavors."

"I don't think she understands..."

"Then cut someone else, but it's unacceptable that we don't get selected."

Something about the way they were advancing and looming over her didn't sit right with her, so she took that as her cue to leave.

"I'm sorry, but my decision is final." With that, she nodded before walking briskly away from them, but soon broke out into a run when she could hear them chasing after her. Great. What a perfect way to end the day.

Yawning, G cracked his back while looking down at the streets below. As was customary for him and M, he was on top of one of taller buildings, surveying the streets below for any criminal activity. Unlike most nights, however, G was alone. He didn't begrudge M the chance to go out, but it was rather lonely on the rooftop by himself. He could have stayed at home that night, but felt it would have been neglectful of him to do so. The city depended on him and M to look after it, and he wasn't going to let it down.

That was when he saw it. G looked down, seeing a young woman being chased by a group of men. They didn't look at all friendly. He watched as they chased her down an alley, an alley that had no exit. Jumping along the buildings rooftops, he landed on a ledge just overlooking the alley. The girl ran in, the men chasing after her. They men smirked when she realized she was cornered.

"Now then, what do you say to going over your list again? I'm sure there's room for us, right boys?"

"Most definitely."

Hwei narrowed her eyes at the three as her mind raced for options. Should she tell them what they wanted to hear, even though she had no intention of actually following through? No, lying wasn't an option for her; plus it wouldn't help much anyway since they could just do this to her again another time. But actually acquiescing wasn't an option either. How could she
build her credibility as a choreographer if her casting choices could be swayed so easily? Before she knew it she had opened her mouth to reply.

"I'm sorry, but I already said that my decision was final. Maybe you should be rethinking your actions before I see to it that you three are never cast for anything again."

And with that, for better or for worse, Hwei knew she was committed. The smirks on the men's faces were replaced with rage.

"Well, that's going to be the last decision you'll ever be making!"

The three charged towards her as Hwei grit her teeth, looking for any sort of opening through which she could escape.

A dark mass fell from above Hwei, shrouded in blackness. It appeared right before her, a dark clad leg flying out and connecting with one of her assailants in the face. He gave a cry, falling back. The dim light fell on the figure, showing he was clad all in black, a cape just behind him and a black mask covering his eyes.

"AUGH!" The man fell to the ground in pain as the other two suddenly stopped in their tracks, weighing their options. In conversations they'd overheard in the 'underground', such a crime fighter had been mentioned more than once. However, wasn't it usually a duo? Maybe this was just some faker who didn't really have any powers at all. Nodding to each other as the third pulled himself off the ground, they considered the fact that 3 versus 1 as sufficiently in their favor for them to chance it.

For her part, Hwei felt her heart skip a beat as her rescuer appeared. It all happened so quickly that her eyes hadn't quite adjusted. "...." She opened up her mouth to say something, but nothing would come out. All she knew now was that whoever this was had a protective arm blocking her from her assailants.

"Stay behind me, Miss. I'll protect you." G glanced back at Hwei, making sure she was out of harms way before darting forward. He used the darkness as his weapon; with his dark clothing, he was able to trick the three assailants into thinking he was there when he wasn't. He was like a black tornado, his legs and arms moving too quickly to be seen. First one man, then two were on the floor, unconscious. When the third pulled a knife, G darted to the side, but was too late, as the blade bit into his arm, drawing blood.

Hissing in pain, he pulled his arm back, and a red light emanated from his hand. The last villain fell back with a cry, falling against the nearby building. He slumped to the ground, unconscious.

Hwei gasped as she watched the blade connect with her rescuer. Whoever it was, they got injured because of her. Acting instinctively, she tore a long strip of cloth off her shirt, rushing to help as soon as she was sure the last of her attackers had fallen. Gently, she started to wrap his wound up, tying it off tightly hoping to help stop the bleeding.

"You'd better go get that looked at..." She finished her work before tilting her face up to look at him. The mask concealed his face, but there was something about his eyes that just cast a spell on her. Why did they look slightly familiar? Or maybe it was just a trick of the shadows that made her think so. "Thank you..." A slightly shy, and sweet smile bloomed across her lips. She took a step closer to him, but it was then that her body decided that it had done enough for one day. Between all the dancing, the running, and the panic, Hwei's system just couldn't handle anything more. Everything looked like it was spinning and going blurry, and the last thing she remembered before passing out was that pair of concerned, and caring eyes.

G was about to say that he was fine when she suddenly collapsed. Catching her in his arms, he lifted her up. Looking around to make sure no one was around, he summoned his powers and they flew up into the air, G still holding her. The night air was calm, which he took as a good sign. Her apartment was on the other side of town, so this would be the fastest, and least conspicuous way of getting them there.

Despite being unconscious, something about not having any solid ground beneath her caused Hwei's defense mechanisms to kick it. "....Mmrrgnn..." The young choreographer struggled to open her eyes to figure out what was going on. The first thing she realized was that she was in her un-named rescuer's arms. Being tucked up so close to him brought a light blush to her cheeks. The second thing she noticed was that they were in the air. Even though she knew that she shouldn't, she couldn't help looking down.

"Eeep!" Hwei let out a quiet whimper before clinging tightly to her rescuer. At that moment, she didn't care that she barely knew him - she was absolutely terrified of heights. She could feel the vertigo kicking in, and started to feel dizzy once again. "C-can I get off now? I'm not so good with..." Hwei never finished that thought, falling unconscious once
again. Surprisingly, her grip on him remained as tight as ever.

G couldn't help but grin; she was so cute when she was like this. He found her apartment with ease. Landing on the balcony, he carried her into her bedroom and set her down on the bed. Pulling the covers over her, he checked her for any injuries, glad to discover none were present.

As she was laid on her bed, the unconscious Hwei let out a quiet, yet contented sigh. A soft smile curled over her lips as her hand reached out on its own to grasp his; her subconscious somehow knowing that she was safe with him nearby. A few moments passed before her strong-willed desire to be on top of every situation asserted itself, and she once again fought to come to. Her eyes snapped open as she gasped, sitting up a little.

"Too high!" She took a few quick breaths as she looked around. Her familiar apartment greeted her, from her stacks of CDs to the haphazard pile of dance shoes in the corner. What was she holding on to? It felt like... Her eyes trailed up from her hand, up along the arm of her mysterious rescuer, over to his face, which seemed fixed on her. She could feel her cheeks starting to burn as she released his hand, covering her face with both her hands in embarrassment.

"Oh...um...s-sorry..." How was it that she could feel like disappearing in a hole, yet wanting to be there forever all at the same time? "And to who do I owe my rescue? I'd like to be
able to thank you properly..."

"No thanks are needed. Knowing that you are safe is enough." G pushed back his cape, his glove clad hands suddenly feeling sweaty. His eyes found hers and he seemed to become lost within them. At least until she covered them with her hands. Reaching out, he took her hands in his, holding them and pulling them away from her face. "You shouldn't hide such beauty, Hwei. You may call me...G, if you like."

Not used to hearing such compliments, Hwei could only smile and avert her eyes, her cheeks feeling incredibly warm. Just who was this masked man? And what was it about the way he was looking at her that was making her pulse race? "Well...thank you, G..." Biting her lip a little uncertainly, she decided to throw caution to the wind, and leaned in to give him a soft kiss on his cheek. That was when she noticed that the strip of cloth she'd tied to his arm earlier was soaked with blood. Frowning a little, she reached to her bedside table for a long scarf that she often used to tie her hair back. "Here..." With gentle movements, she changed his wound dressing before looking back up at him with an equally gentle smile. "A little something to remember me by. I'm guessing you need to head back out there, and help whoever else needs saving out there."

"Thank you." G glanced from the new dressing on his wound over to Hwei. He smiled, his finger tracing along her cheek before he pulled back. "Are you well enough?" He was touched that she used her scarf for his wound, but sad as well. She didn't need to do that, but a part of him was glad that she had.

"I'm fine...really. Thank you again..." She gave him a smile tinged with a little sadness. For some reason, it felt like she'd never see her mysterious rescuer again. "Take care of yourself out there."

"Of course." G gave her a smirk before leaning in to kiss her on the lips. Giving her a wink, he jumped out the window, flying up to the roof. Out of sight, he watched the window for a good half an hour before heading off deeper into the city.

The kiss took Hwei completely by surprise. She was so stunned that no response came to her lips, and she was only able to sit in her bed, wide-eyed, as she watched him leave. Moments after his departure, Hwei seemed to come to her senses, and darted to her window to see if she could spot any sign of him. Unfortunately for her, no such luck. Standing by her window for a few moments more, she gently touched her fingers to her lips before smiling. "Brat..." With that, she shuffled back to her bed, climbing under the covers. Part of her wished she could tell someone about her crazy evening, but honestly, who was going to believe being rescued by some masked superhero that could fly?
