So I basically want to shriek and yell and jump you, and then fall asleep on you because reading this kept me up past the time I told myself I'd be going to bed.
I really can't tell you how many times I found myself cackling over pop. culture references in this and then feeling like an ultimate dork afterwards; the facebook conversations where the times the replies came in meant as much as what was and wasn't said, the way everyone tries to cook or buy food for someone else that doesn't quite match up to the way someone else else makes it, and how that's so comforting and so lonely, all at the same time. How the characters take each other and themselves apart, knowing and denying and just, being stupid together even when one of them's on another country and trying to take the stupid even more stupidly apart.
Basically, I just want to love on this and dote on this and take it to cuddle with me as I go to sleep this dark and cold January morning - thank you so very much for such a beautiful, warm read.
I've been feeling down lately but I saw this in the f-list and now I'm content and smiling like an idiot :D that's the power of an amazing fic ; ;
I love this, it's calm and wonderful, and the small details that make them closer little by little till they click. Alfred. Alfred. You adorable little kid ;w; and Matthew with his hockey and understanding and aklsdja ;w;. Disney was a critical hit to my heart, I had to squezze my pillow like HRE xD I haven't read much AmeCan really but oh gosh it's so lovely 8D I love them!
And Francis and Arthur with their stupid prides and stubborness ;3; I was like.. baby come back ;A;/ when Francis left. Alfred is a hero for finding that painting, and that conversation when he comes back lakdsjals ;A
( ... )
I'm so happy that it made YOU happy! :D :D I love domesticity and little details and Disney. This fic was so fun to write - even if it took an incredibly long time, what.
Haha hey, your English is waaaay better than my Spanish (I haven't read/written/heard anything since... December? oh lord I'm forgetting everything already).
... Did I post that comment in the wrong place? |DDD Fuck, I really did OTL I haven't realize that xDDDD sorry miss or mister Shadow_of_Egipt xD
Colorburguers to meee :D :D :D maybe I'll make some next weekend, I'm like Arthur when it comes to cooking food (I set a cloth on fire last time I tried to boil water, I have no idea how I did that xD), but if it's pastry I can do it :D
So I basically want to shriek and yell and jump you --- was pretty much my reaction to reading your Christmas FACE (or CAFE, as you prefer, see, I remember!) fic. Arthur as a Christmas elffffff
Pop culture references! o/ I adore pop culture references, although sometimes I tell myself I ought to lay off of them because some people might not get them? But they end up in my fics anyway. And domesticity, yeah, I love it, in case that wasn't clear :D (And ffft the Facebook posts took a lot longer than I'd like to admit :P)
Thank you for such a beautiful, warm comment! (No, really - I just watched Sherlock, so I need hugs and hot chocolate and, well, some poutine would be lovely, actually, ahaha.)
Still need to work on that. >> It's sitting open right now behind my KM fill and is giving me relief because I can take a break from the fill to write later smut/snark for the elf!fic, and vice versa. You remember more than I do - I keep forgetting the title of the dratted thing as it's ingrained as 'elf!fic in my head. Now and then.
Always include the pop. culture references! Because if people know them they know them and get the joke, and if they don't know them people are encouraged to go look up the reference and find themselves educated as a result.
And - *snugs* I don't follow Sherlock but I pretty much know everything that happens in it due to the screams and tears of my tumblr dash. May you have lots of love and hugs to recover from the trauma and - yes - even the dreaded poutine if it makes you warm and fuzzy and works as your shock blanket. ♥
