**STATE OF EMERGENCY**
That's right, Callander declared one earlier this evening after a wicked set of storms rolled through at about 5PM.
Driving around town here earlier this evening....it really is bad. Trees down everywhere, as well as power lines. The lighthouse has been toppled, and Sunbeam Bungalows was hit hard, with a large number of trees down on top of cars and some of the buildings.
Fortunately, we are all (Davis' and Murdoch's) ok here, and there was no damage here at home, and the Murdoch's wasn't too bad, though they lost a fair number of trees (one hitting the new truck, fortunately only denting the roof a bit)
So, as it stands, most of the North Bay area is without power (with estimates of full restoration at 24 to 48 hours), but at least the worst appears to be over, as the skies are clearing and the temperature and humidity have gone down drastically.
Once I get hydro/DSL back, I'll upload the pics and videos I took just to give you all an idea of the damage done...
