Some VERY cool things from my Evolutionary Psychology reading:

1. All cultures use spices for cooking, and lately scientists have realized that what we consider "spices" are parts of plants with specialized chemicals that kill a number of bacteria that are present in our food. (Ginger and garlic, the most commonly used spices, are actually the most ( Read more... )

Glad you enjoy the random info! ^^

Don't get too excited, there is a trade off. xD Men are much better at mental rotation (like imagining a cube in their minds and rotating it at different angles). We didn't learn about that, but I'm guessing that it'd be helping for hunting or planning out where to go.

This data is so cool, I will use a bit in my literature class! Teenagers always ask stuff like this in my classes and I like to make connection between art and society (actually next week we are going to see chinese literature!).

Thank you for the info, could I get the bibliography?

;D

Haha that's cool! :D Keep in mind though, most of these are theories since it's really hard to prove ANY scientific theory. I read about all of these in the book "Evolutionary Psychology 3rd Edition" by David M. Buss. :3

Thank you again!
In my class we always try to figure out scenarios and we discuss about theories as well. I like to force my students into deeper thinking, and not just give them information without a context, so this will be fun to discuss and we could spend the time in more productive ways then just writing data :D

Happy Weekend!
