More LOTR Fic Suggestions!

As if you guys aren't sick of these already. :D

Of Silver Hair and Elfings -- Where DID Thranduil get his obsession with jewels and shiny things? A rather hilarious but well written story involving Oropher, Celeborn and baby Thranduil. (It's all Celeborn's fault.)

------------------

Kasmi Kassim
's stories: (They're all somewhat linked together. She's got more stories than this, you'll have to find them.)
The Strength of One Greenleaf - This is one SERIOUSLY powerful story. Legolas and Thranduil deal with the Queen's death, while Gandalf helps. (Thranduil starts out a LITTLE too emotional in the first few chapters, but he is written beautifully and he's just such a magnificiant character by the end. 8D) The love between him and baby!Legoals is just so raw and powerful.
Of Elfings and Adolescents - Takes place after above story. Thranduil sends Legolas to Rivendell to play with Elrond's twins.
Of Overgrown Dwarves and Lembas - Little!Legolas and Little!Arwen get in a lot of trouble in Rivendell. Gandalf, the twins and Glorfindel feature. Very funny, somehow Gandalf ends up in a tree. xD
A Winter Evening in Imladris - Very well written, takes place sometime during the previous two stories when Thranduil comes to Rivendell.

------------------

Nilmandra's stories: This woman is insanely good. Her stories are mainly drama/adventure with a lot of fluff on the side. They're also epically long. :D The only tihng I don't like about her series is that she gave Legolas a LOT of siblings and they're hard to keep track of, but you grow to like them anyways.
May the Valar Protect Them - Beginning of her Mirkwood series, starting with Legolas's traumatic birth, his mother's murder and a desperate, two year search for him. (Many stories follow this one after baby!Legoals is found and he gets used to his real family members.)
History Lessons: Age 1 - Beginning of her Imladris/Rivendell series. I have never, EVER seen such an amazing story about Elrond. THIS IS A MUST READ IF YOU KNOW THE SILMARILLION. Oh my god, she fleshes out the events from the First Age to the end of the Third Age (War of the Ring) in such an amazing, realistic, believable way. Tolkein would have been damn proud. :)
Hunting - The Mirkwood and Imladris series overlap. Little Legolas meets Elrond's twin sons and Glorfindel for the first time when parties from both kingdoms meet while hunting. Takes place in Mirkwood. (Very cute. xD)

------------------

Daw the Minstrel's fics - She has too many stories to list, but most center around Legolas, his two brothers and their father. Most of them are adventure fics, but she's very good at developing characters.

------------------

One Good Archer of Mirkwood - A really entertaining, well-written story from the POV of an aged human woman who meets Legolas while trading with the Mirkwood elves. She's got a lot of jokes you'll have to read hard to pick out. xD

------------------

Jedi Sapphire's fics - Her stories are all funny and are more about dialogue than anything else. Very fun to read, especially if you're a big Thranduil fan. 8D (She's got a LOT of stories, you can check them out yourself. My three faves are below.)
An Elf Lord In Peril - Thranduil confronts Elrond in a rather violent manner after the decision is made to send Legolas with the Fellowship.
The Three Hunters and the Elven King - Gimli, Elrond's twins and Aragorn escort Legolas back to Mirkwood after Sauron is destroyed. Thranduil is Not Amused. Very, very funny dialogue in this one. xD;
Knife's Edge - Bored out of his skull from politics, Thranduil somehow coerces his protesting son into switching places with him because they look so much alike. Much confusion ensues. (Poor Legolas. XD)

------------------

Jocelyn's fics - Another excellent writer, her stories are very long but vastly entertaining to read.
A Little Nudge Out the Door - Gandalf does the same thing to Legolas that he did to Bilbo --kicks him out of home for a while just to see what happens. :p (Very long.)

Hey, I learned a new LOTR fact today! While the Noldor were the craftsman of the elves, the Sindar (Legolas, Thranduil, Celeborn, etc.) are descended from an ancient clan of elves called the Lindar, the "Singers". The Sindar were suppose to be the artists of the elves and had the best voices. I suppose Tolkein hinted at that by making Legolas sing a lot in the books and also by making Haldir and his brothers remark that Legolas "had a voice as fair as a maiden's" or something like that when they first entered Lothlorien.
