Okay I have two seconds before I collapse in bed.
This movie was nuts. Lots of thinking involved, a lot of impressive art history and ratting off artists I only vaguely know. (I seriously fail as an artist 'cause I never took one course/class/iota of art history and never even looked into it.) I was both impressed and overwhelmed by all the traditions of the Vatican (I know NOTHING of religion, mind you) and by how the movie manages to walk the thin line between religion and science without insulting either. (Though I was definitely questioning if I'd be able to stay neutral about this movie in the first half.)
Also, one last thing. EWAN MCGREGOR, WHAT.D8
First, the guy doesn't seem to age. He still has the baby face and the sweet voice he's had for years upon years upon years. (Which, considering his kids are like... preteens or teens by now, is strange but impressive.) Second, without giving anything away, he seriously knows how to pick roles! Third, is it absolutely horrid that I thought he looked great dressed as a priest? ^^; He can seriously rock any outfit and make it his own. In this particular movie, he just looks so slender and graceful, and he's still got that gait that I've loved since Star Wars. <3
