Guess what I just did today?

Yup, voice acted a character for a few friends that were making a video game for their final project before graduation. Here's a pic of my character! ^^ Ross drew her, haha. (We need to fix the grammar on that poster...)

I GEEKED OUT WHEN I SAW THE SOUND BOOTH. I've never even been NEAR one so when I got in I totally had memories of Travis and Vic and all the other voice actors I stalk watch on YouTube. xD;

I dunno how the actual recording went. :/ It was quite intimidating, though I got used to it after a while. My voice sounds really... young recorded though. My character was basically this young genius of a woman who was teaching the main character/the player how to play the game. I had to keep forcing myself to talk smooth and (somewhat) deeply. I also had to make sure I sounded flat, because she was supposed to be a cold and emotionless woman.

Personally, I think I sucked. But they liked it enough to keep it. X_x; We'll see how that goes.

The best part of the recording was WHEN WE GOT TO TAKE DAMAGE! AHAHAHA! My friend and I totally geeked out when they told us they wanted some sounds of us getting hit. My friend did WAY better than I did at making sound effects (mainly 'cause he's actually a gamer, while I'm not) but I got a few cool grunts in.

We were TOTALLY basing our taunts on Devil May Cry, by the way. XD The guy character was going "Take this!" and "Try this!" and my character was going "Get out of my way!"

Also, more pics:

Haha, I looked nervous as hell in this one.

Sooo yeah. That was fun. xD; Coolest moment of my year so far.

I don't think I'll be going into voice acting anytime soon though. I have SOOO much respect for the voice actors now, even the ones that don't sound as good as what we want them to sound like. GEEZ, voice acting is hard. Even if you're trying to sound different in the booth, the microphone really doesn't pick up on all the subtlies so you really have to force it.
