Sword of a Stranger and GOING HOME. 8D
Just finished Sword of a Stranger, a gorgeous anime movie by the studio BONES. (They also made Ouran High School Host Club and Darker Than Black, both of which have great animation. One of the main characters in Sword of a Stranger totally adopted Hei's "dead eyes" at the end of the movie. So cool. 8D) The fight scenes are INCREDIBLE, they're the best I've ever seen in any anime! Of course, their animation for everything else is kind of half-assed, but I think it's 'cause they save all their money and resources for the fight scenes. XD
Oh, and also, I was very impressed that they had all the Chinese characters actually speak MANDARIN. Though the pronunciations were a little strange, I was pretty impressed that they got most of the tones correct. 8D BONES clearly has a thing for Chinese characters.
Overall, I liked it. The plot was kind of predictable, but the fight scenes more than made up for the badass-ness.
Also, one more thing. BONES, STOP MAKING AMBIGUOUS ENDINGS!! Omg, I think the ending was meant to be sad, but you just have no idea. It's totally open-ended. ;_;
By the way, I have a flight in nine hours. Will talk to you all from home soon, though I have tons of stuff to do so it'll just feel like I'm doing schoolwork back at my house. ZOMG, I SHOULD BE SLEEPING RIGHT NOW. *beats self*
And my DVD player is still fucked up. =___= *cries* Do you think Geek Squad at Home Depot might fix it? :-/
