A day off after 18 straight days of work is a fabulous thing. I was supposed to go out to Tanglewood today with my mom and grandparents, to hear Elizabeth Rowe play Mozart G, but my grandfather decided it would be too much for Nana. So, Instead of getting up at the crack of dawn, I slept until noon. Glorious alarm-free sleep, with no set end time and all the freedom to open my eyes and say "I don't feel like getting up," roll over and go right back to sleep. I was actually relieved to not have to go to Tanglewood, as sleeping was something I really needed to do. When I did get up, it was leisurely breakfast and then off to Worcester to spend the day with the grandparents. And I just took the evening to do laundry and stitch the hem of my new dress while watching TV. Will post pics of the dress soon, as I am rather proud of it.
Last night, I played a concert at MIT. Dvorak and Rachmaninov. And let me tell you, I never realized how long Rach 2 is until we were performing it. Afterwards, I had a giant hot fudge sundae. I think I deserved it. I'm looking forward to coming back to this orchestra next summer...not exactly perfect technically, but the music is really there and I have a good time.
This week, I have Tuesday night and all of Wednesday off, so I'm finally going to start packing for this impending move of mine. Less than two weeks left before my life goes over the border. Oh God, this is going to be really tough because I can't let my pack-rat self bring too much. Better start with the winter clothes....
I have way too many thoughts bouncing around in my head and way too few words to express them, and it's driving me crazy. Ugh.
